Attorney general may investigate Hughes allegations
The Utah Attorney General's office said Thursday that its investigators may look into any alleged criminal acts in a state House ethics complaint filed against Rep. Greg Hughes, R-Draper. Meanwhile, regardless of any law enforcement probe, House Democrats want a "thorough" House ethics investigation of Hughes and want it even if Hughes decides not to fight the charges and resigns.

Hill questions Shurtleff's ethics
Candidates in the state attorney general's race took verbal swipes at each other in their first public debate Tuesday with charges of conflict of interest taking center stage. Jean Welch Hill questioned Attorney general's ethics, both in his receipt of hefty campaign donations from payday lenders, and in his inability to investigate bribery allegations against former GOP state treasurer candidate and former state Rep. Mark Walker.

Springmeyer tangles with Huntsman in debate
Civil, but with some pointed exchanges. That was the debate Monday between Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. and his Democratic challenger this year, Bob Springmeyer. The pair took only a few shots at each other during an hourlong debate on KUER 90.1 FM. After some prodding from Springmeyer, Huntsman promised to serve out his full four years should he be elected governor again.
